Megha Ganne won the 2026 Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic in a two-hole playoff over Cholcheva Wongras, capping her rookie professional season with her first Epson Tour title. Both players birdied the first extra hole to stay level, and Ganne sealed the win with a par on the second playoff hole after Wongras was unable to match, ending a tense back-and-forth that had been building since the pair separated themselves from the field over the tournament's final 36 holes.

Ganne, playing in her rookie professional season out of Stanford, closed regulation with a 6-under 66 to card a 54-hole total of 19-under 197, forcing the playoff. She made the turn in 33 despite a pair of bogeys, then reeled off four birdies over her first six holes on the back nine to seize control of the tournament before a bogey at the last briefly opened the door for Wongras. Her 197 is the second-lowest 54-hole total in tournament history, behind only Pornanong Phatlum's tournament-record 195 (2024), and comes in just her first full season of professional golf.

Ganne turned pro this summer after helping Stanford win the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf Championship, capturing the 2025 U.S. Women's Amateur, and being named the recipient of the 2026 Inkster Award presented by Workday — the honor that helped fast-track her into the Epson Tour field this week. It's a full-circle moment for a player who first drew national attention in 2021 as a 17-year-old high schooler, when she held a share of the lead after the opening round of the U.S. Women's Open and went on to finish low amateur.

“It feels great, really cool to have a professional win, which is something that's been on the bucket list,” Ganne said afterward. She entered the final round two shots off the lead but had a number in mind from the start of the week: “I actually called at the beginning of the week, the winner would probably be 20 under. Didn't think that was gonna be myself that got to that number, but that was kind of the goal that I had set in my mind.”

The sudden-death format brought back memories of her U.S. Women's Amateur title a year ago, which was also won in Oregon: “I won the U.S. Amateur in Oregon, and this type of scenery kind of reminded me of it with how far out you could see, so I was having a little deja vu there, and the sudden death was fitting, I guess.” She admitted the nerves were real: “My nerves are probably a little bit higher than I'd like to admit. Definitely more nervous in this than I have been in the past and other big moments I've played... but I definitely relied on prior experience I had in sudden death playoffs and that 1v1 environment is something that I'd like to think that I have a little bit of an edge in.”

Looking ahead, Ganne said she's not chasing anything different, just consistency: “I think just staying committed to the routines that I've been having and knowing that, when the time is right, the scores will show and it will pay off like they did this week.” She also credited her support system, including her father, who has traveled to every event with her this season: “My dad's been out here every week with me, so it's been super cool to have him as a rock... it takes a village.”

Wongras, chasing her second Epson Tour win of her rookie season after breaking through at May's Reliance Matrix Championship — where she set the tour's 72-hole scoring record at 26-under — carded a bumpier 4-under 68 in regulation that still got her to 19-under, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 13th and offset by a lone bogey at the par-5 5th.

The 19-year-old from Chiang Mai, Thailand, turned professional at just 15 and arrived at Wildhorse already a two-time Thai LPGA Tour Order of Merit winner, and she pushed the playoff to a second hole with a birdie on the first extra hole before Ganne's closing par proved decisive. It's a runner-up finish that nonetheless keeps Wongras among the tour's hottest rookies down the stretch of the season.

The chase pack made plenty of noise of its own. Laura Wearn, a 35-year-old, three-time Epson Tour winner playing in her 12th season on tour, carded the low round of the day at 8-under 64, making two eagles — on the par-5 3rd and par-5 13th — to briefly threaten the leaders before settling for a share of third. Kajal Mistry, a 25-year-old University of Arkansas product from Johannesburg, South Africa still searching for her first Epson Tour top-10 entering the week, played bogey-free for a 5-under 67 and matched Wearn's tie for third alongside Samantha Wagner, who added a 3-under 69 in her bid for a second career win after breaking through earlier this season at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship.

The 2026 edition marked the fifth playing of the Wildhorse Ladies Golf Classic and the tournament's fifth consecutive year partnering with Wildhorse Resort & Casino and the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Ganne's win adds her name alongside past champions Erika Hara (2025), Pornanong Phatlum (2024), Yin Xiaowen (2023) and Daniela Iacobelli (2022) on the tournament's short list of winners, and moves her to 15th in the 2026 Race for the Card. The Epson Tour heads next to Garden City, Kansas, for the Dream First Bank Charity Classic, August 28-30 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
