Low scores and high winds were the stories of the third round at the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson, with Yana Wilson setting the new mark to beat for 18 holes of play at Spanish Trail Country Club. There was a small suspension in play as the leaders made their way onto the course however, with winds making the course unplayable for roughly an hour and half. Once play resumed, the wind was almost nonexistent, with the players still on the course able to take advantage.

Wilson put together the round of the tournament after starting the day five-shots back of the leader. The 18-year-old plotted her way around the course almost perfectly, playing nearly identical nines and doing so bogey-free.

The front included four birdies, with none coming back-to-back, but she also did not go more than two holes without making a birdie. The circles showed up on the card one holes one, four, six and eight with the Las Vegas native making the turn with a 4-under 32. The back nine also resulted in a 4-under 32, with Wilson rolling in four more birdies before the end of the day to hold a one-shot lead.

Wilson has made a big impact in her short time on the Epson Tour, with two top-10 results in just four starts so far. She was in contention heading into the final round at the Atlantic Beach Classic presented by Access Golf, carding an even-par 71 in the final round to finish T4, but Wilson still knows there is a lot of golf left to play and will enter the final round with a go with the flow attitude.

"There's still a lot of golf left to be played, so it's just a good confidence boost, kind of what I shot today, but no expectations going into tomorrow," said Wilson. "You know, golf is weird, so yeah, I'm just going to try to flow out there again tomorrow."

The final round of the Reliance Matrix Championship presented by Epson will be split-tee threesomes with the leaders going off hole one at 8:50 a.m. local time. In the final grouping with Wilson will be Lakareber Abe and Sophia Schubert, who both posted rounds of 67 or better in the third round to make their way into the final pairing.
